The Postseason Wrap Up: I'm a Slave to Baseball

It's been a short lifetime since I've written a post and now that baseball is officially over, it will probably be even longer before I write another new post. In other words, savor this one.

The baseball gods clearly wanted me to be miserable during the duration of the postseason. Not only did every team I want to advance get eliminated in the division series' but my "if there has to be a winner" teams in the championship series also got eliminated. Leaving me with two teams in my divisions that I absolutely can not cheer for, the Giants and the Tigers. Now as if that wasn't bad enough the Giants had to go ahead and sweep after being on the verge of elimination in the previous two series.

My hatred for the Giants brought back painful memories while watching them eliminate the Reds in game 5 of the DS. I had a bad feeling going into that game that they were going to pull out the win. I treated that game as if it were game 162 all over again. I was heart broken for the Reds and utterly shocked that the Giants came back from the brink of death to win the last three games of the series. At that point I told myself I wasn't going to watch any more of the postseason because there weren't any teams left that I could stand to cheer for. Sadly, I'm a slave to baseball and watched probably 95% of the games this postseason.

As we all know, the Giants swept to win the World Series and if you are on twitter you were probably bombarded with annoying tweets from fans and not from Giants fans. Granted the Giants fans were probably already in a drunken stupor by the time the game went into extras and were probably beyond shitfaced by the time they won. I was prepared for the obnoxious Giants are World Series Champs again tweets but what I wasn't prepared for was the complete bittery assholeness of Padres fans. Yes, I was also pissed that the Giants won but I was smart enough to turn the game off after the final out was recorded. I saw no need to suffer through a postgame show. Clearly some of my timeline was not smart enough to do the same or too drunk to do so as I saw countless bitter posts. I could not believe how bitter fans were being. You would think that it was 2010 again with the way they were acting. It's not like the Padres were even close to being in the playoffs this year yet that fact seemed lost on a lot of people that night.

I know it sounds like I'm bashing my fellow Padres fans and in a way I am but the way they were acting was uncalled for. There were tweets of not going to Padres Giants games because they didn't want to be around the bandwagon Giants fans even more so now. I'm ashamed that they would think such a thing. You can't let obnoxious fans determine whether or not you're going to go to a game. Though, I do that with Dodgers games but that's more of a safety concern than anything. If you've forgotten, I'm quite the little girl with quite a loud mouth and that's probably not the best thing to have when you're near Dodgers fans. All in all, it's baseball and if someone is going to offer me tickets to go to a Padres Dodgers game, I won't turn them down or if I already have them, I won't give them away. Baseball is too precious to me to let other fans determine whether or not I go to the game. If anything, I'd want to go to Giants Padres games more to show my support for the Padres and enjoy those glorious moments when we beat the Giants. Them winning a second World Series in three years just makes our wins over them that much more amazing.

In other baseball related news, the Padres are moving in the fences to my dismay and the dismay of others. I still stand by the fact that the Padres are going to get blown out more with the changes than not. I'm scared to see how it's going to affect the pitchers especially ones that are perfect for, I guess now we can call it, old Petco. It worries me that our pitchers are going to try to make up for the space they've lost and alter their mechanics and do more harm than good. Also in other baseball related news, Chase Headley won his first Gold Glove tonight. I was beyond shocked to see that he was even nominated and even more shocked when he won. With the announcement of his name I immediately yelled "HOLY CRAP!!" had I been alone in the house it would have been a much more colorful expression. Chase marks the first Padres third baseman to win since my all time favorite Padre, Caminiti. So thank you, Padres, for not trading Chase. I've forgotten what it's like to have a Gold Glove winner. Also, I have to ask, how the hell did the Reds Brandon Phillips not win a Gold Glove?! I was constantly amazed by his defensive abilities in the games I watched and even highlights on ESPN.

Edit: It's hilarious seeing posts on twitter of fans bitching that their teams player(s) got snubbed for the Gold Glove and them blaming it on the lack of publicity because ya know, the Padres TOTALLY get publicity.

162

Two years ago game 162 about put me into tears. The Padres were facing the Giants in San Fran and Latos was on the mound. The entire season came down to that final game. I remember literally sitting on the edge of my seat with my heart racing and barely breathing. Seriously, I had to remind myself to breath, it was no long and autonomic response. I might as well have been a player, I honestly think I might have been more stressed about the game than the players were. I don't know how they were able to play that game but a big high five for doing so. As we all know, we lost that game because in true Padres fashion, we couldn't score runs for Latos. Like I said, it about put me into tears. The only reason I didn't cry was because I was in such shock that we had just lost and our playoffs hopes were crushed, just like that. I couldn't get over the fact that that just happened and clearly, I'm still not over it. With that being said, in a way, I'm glad that this game 162 is a million times less stressful but I look forward to the Padres being that close to the playoffs once again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 2013 but I'm making sure to remember to breathe this time if/when it happens.

Maybin made an AMAZING catch to rob Braun of a hit in the first inning. Did I mention it was amazing?? The Brewers still manage to take the lead despite that amazing catch Cam made. Shit, somehow the Brewers scored two runs. I think I only saw one. Oops. It's okay, because the Padres are up in their half of the third and have a man on for Chase. They walked him and whatever, he's still leading the RBI race so the Brewers can suck it. The Brewers drive in their third run in the third inning to make it 3-0 Brewers. Not to worry, a little birdy... twitter... told me the Padres will comeback. The Brewers plate three more to make it 6-0 but like I said, a little birdy told me we will comeback.

Deno hits a home run in the fourth to start that comeback I was telling you about. Woot, woot. Alexi scores on, I don't even know what because I was getting sidetracked looking up fabric markers. Apparently he scored on Cabrera's steal of second when the ball went into center. Whatever, I'll allow it since we are chipping away at that 6-2 Brewers lead. Chase just crushed a two run home run to put his RBI count to 116 and the score to 6-4. AMAZING, Chase Headley is AMAZING!! Hold up, the umps are reviewing it?! UGH, the umps determined it was a foul ball. PISS!! Chase goes back to 114 RBI and the Padres go back to losing 6-2. UGH. Okay, so Chase doubles and goes to 115 RBI and the score goes to 6-3. Not a two run shot but I'll take the RBI.

In the top of the sixth inning Deno singles and Cam drives him in on a two run home run. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Cam hit a home run to start the season?? The Brewers lead is cut to one on that two run shot. Thank God, as I act like I didn't already know this happened, or the final score of the game. Chase triples in the tying run and adds to his RBI lead. Muahahahahaha. On a play at the plate, in which Chase came in on an awkward looking standing slide, the Padres take the 7-6 lead and hold onto that lead to win. SUCK IT!!

Chase ends the season on back to back player of  the months AND is the NL RBI leader. I just have this to say, suck it, Braun. Oh yeah, and herpes is for life bro. Ahahahaha. Sadly though, the Padres season has come to an end and I'm thoroughly pissed that I have to wait until the weekend for more baseball. I don't even know what I will do once the season is officially over for everyone. I know some people are wondering what I'm going to write about in the off season, if I write at all and honestly, I don't know. I might end up not writing at all. After the majority of the season, this stopped being fun. I may write a random post here and there about off season news or a "what I'm doing without baseball" post but I'm thinking this might be quiet for some time. Thanks bunches for all that have read and shared these posts and put up with my nonsense.  Love, Peace and Baseball to all and to all a goodnight. XOXO.

At Least Braun Didn't Do Anything...

Chase does it again. No, he didn't take back the RBI lead because he's still in possession of that as of the beginning of this game and post. What he did do again is win NL player of the month. We seriously need to do something about him. It is completely unacceptable that we have all that talent and have yet to do anything about it. I don't want to see him traded but I feel like that is exactly what's going to happen.

Nothing note worthy has happened in the first two innings, then the Brewers half of the third happened. We loaded the bases for them and now it's only a matter of time before this game gets ugly. Before I could finish typing that sentence, the Brewers murder a grand slam and take the 4-0 lead. MOTHERFUCKER.

Padres get one back in the fourth thanks to a Venable single. As I tweet how boring this game is, the Padres drive in Chase to make it 4-2 and have runners on first and second. Maybe they saw my complaint and are trying to do something about it. The Padres have the bases loaded and Deno up with one out, some odd throwing got the out at home. The bases remain loaded for Yasmani. Please do work!! Yasmani drives in a run and it's now 4-3 Padres and the bases are STILL loaded. The Brewers saved them plenty of runs on a fantastic play at third. With two outs and the bases still loaded, like I said, we put the bat in Quentin's hands. Do not fail me, Quentin... he failed me. Womp, womp.

Ugh in the bottom half of the 7th, the Brewers load the bases on a HBP. Fabulous. In what can only be described as a gift from the baseball Gods, the Brewers left the bases loaded thanks to a strikeout of Braun. You can't tell but I'm sticking my tongue out and making farting noises at the game right now. This might be one of the most boring games this season which saddens me given that we have one game left after tonight AND I'll be in class for it. The Padres have a two out rally going on and Parrino could have tied up the game had he not tripped over air while rounding second. It was embarrassing to say the least. He should have tucked and rolled, might make it look a lot cooler. Booooooooooo!! The Padres lost on literally one swing. UGH. Please tell me we can end the season with a win tomorrow.

Last Series of the Season, How Depressing

The title says it all. No matter the outcome of this game, it's going to be depressing. At least it should be a good series with that whole RBI leader thing happening. So the Brewers take the early lead but thankfully Braun didn't drive in the run. He was the run that came around to score but still. Holy fuck, Clayton was tired of losing so he took matters into his own hands and tied the game with his first career home run in the third inning. Following Clayton's home run, the Padres load the bases and at the moment stand at a 2-0 count on Alonso with two outs, don't fuck this up Alonso. He fucked it up. Oh well, it's a new game now.

The Brewers take back the lead in the fourth with a home run of their own. Once again, thank God it wasn't Braun. UGH fifth inning two run home run for Weeks. Clayton, stop it!! Somehow the Padres scored in the sixth but I was a little busy trying to draw a flow chart. I finished the damn flow chart in time to see the Brewers hit ANOTHER home run. STOP IT!! The Brewers now lead 5-2. Grandal drives in Cabrera in the seventh to make it 5-3 and I'm barely awake to care. Plus, I just read one of the dumbest things I think I have ever read and am positive I lost brain cells doing so. I want to apologize to my brain for doing that and I ask that you please allow those brain cells to return. I promise I won't do anything like that ever again. Sadly like my brain cells, the Padres didn't come back. Brewers win 5-3.

Last Home Game of the Season and I'm Left With Sad Puppy Dog Eyes

Welp, it's the last home game of the season and we are forced to sit through Volquez vs Lincecum. Two pitchers who favor the walks this season, I'm so not okay with that and it makes me glad I'm not at the game today. Holy shit, the Giants already scored and the game hasn't even been on for 10 minutes. What the hell?! I guess I miss these things when I'm busy tweeting about the attractiveness that is Philip Rivers. Sorry but that is an important topic. UGH Volquez sucks ass and walked Lincecum to load the bases. Seriously?! I'm not going to miss him this off season. Thank God, Volquez managed to strike out the next batter and save us from going ape shit on him.

Cabrera is stealing bases like it's nobody's business today. Logan just murdered a two run home run to give the Padres the 2-1 lead in the third. Thank you!! Now let's not fuck up the lead. Volquez, I'm talking to you. Holy shit, I thought for sure we just blew the lead but by the grace of the baseball gods, we got the run out at home. UGH Volquez just walked Lincecum again to load the bases. STOP IT!! Hey Padres, I could walk Lincecum for A LOT cheaper, just saying. Okay, I can walk any player for A LOT cheaper than Volquez. PS. Fuck you very much, Volquez for tying the game on a bases loaded walk. A swinging bunt luckily went our way to end the inning and I'm feeling ridiculously bipolar right now. Can the baseball gods stop fucking with my emotions today?? Either keep us in your good graces or don't, I can't handle the back and forth today.

After Yasmani gets the final out like a G in the Giants half of the inning, he kicks off the Padres half with a solo shot to give us our lead back. I love you, Yasmani. The Padres let Volquez come back into the game, throw another ball then pull him. What the hell was the point of that?! You knew he was hurt which is why you had the assistant trainer come out to begin with during the last inning. Don't be dumb. YES!! 4-2 Padres in the fifth on Cabrera steals and a throwing error. Like I said Cabrera is stealing bases today like it's nobody's business. His stealing ability is the only reason I don't completely hate him. Jesus, Chase starts off the sixth with a home run of his own and takes over the NL RBI lead again and make it a 5-2 game. Clearly, these boys want to put on a show for the final home game.

The Padres put Luke in for the eighth and after a walk and a single they pull him... for Thatcher. Seriously?! You're putting Thatcher in?! God help us. Hey Thatcher, you're supposed to prevent runs from scoring. 5-3 Padres. Umm I think it's time to pull Thatcher given that the Giants just loaded the bases and still have no outs. So Black pulls Thatcher AFTER he allows another run to score, 5-4 Padres. Great move, Buddy, great move. So it's clear that everyone except the pitching staff is wanting to put on a show for the final home game. Holy shit, I about had a heart attack with Pablo's at bat. That man scares me no matter what but the fact that there were two on with two outs, holy fuck. Thank God Thayer was able to get him out and my little heart can relax again. Well at least until the top of the ninth. Logan came close to hitting his second home run of the day and that was the most excitement for the Padres half of the eighth.

Only one more (half) inning until baseball in San Diego is officially over for the season. This makes me extremely sad but luckily I have a few more days before the season ends. It's up to Huston to close out this game and I'm still concerned about his balls. Aww fuck, Nady just homered off Street to tie the game at five. I'm taking that as payback for Cam robbing him yesterday. Shit!! Street just gave up another home run, this time of the two run variety and now it's 7-5 Giants. Like I stated earlier, it's clear everyone except the pitching staff is wanting to put on a show... well a positive show. Unfortunately the Giants won this one 7-5 and I'm left sitting here with sad puppy dog eyes. Thank you Padres for making me waste a beautiful San Diego day. Can we pull out some wins in Milwaukee?? Please??

Remembering How to Play Baseball = A Padres W

Chase started this game off with backhanded amazingness. I'd describe it better but I was too busy freaking out about MLB Network being temporarily off the air. Motherfucker, Pence crushes a three run home run to start the game. Holy fuck balls!! Cam made a amazing catch to rob another home run and tore up part of the wall as he did it. That catch reminded me of something Grady Sizemore would do before he turned into glass. Good Lord, Deno starts off the game with a lead off triple. PUH-LEASE tell me this is going to be a good game tonight. Chase drives in Deno on a fielders choice to make it a 3-1 game with one out. Let's do work tonight, boys. Chase steals second then takes third on an error and comes around to score on a Yasmani sac fly. No, I didn't throw my arm up in excitement when that ball went into the outfield like last night. The Padres now trail by one, we got this.

While Bumgarner was up to bat they pointed out that he throws left and bats right. We all know that I hate when players do that, especially pitchers. Unless you're a pitcher that can actually hit, why not just "bat" from the same side?? It's not like anyone really expects you to get a hit and it moves your pitching arm out of danger, pads or not. I put bat in quotes because half the time you get a pitcher who doesn't give two shits about batting and just stands there knowing he's going to get out. When that is the case, I REALLY don't get why they expose their pitching arm.

In the third inning Chase CRUSHES a two run home run to make it a 4-3 game and to tie Braun with 112 RBI. Did I mention it was his 30th of the season too cause it was. Now can we extend him?! And Guzman crushed another home run to make it a 5-3 game now. Where were these guys last night?! By the fifth inning the game had become pretty boring and then the Padres half started. Padres had runners on first and second with one out and Yasmani drove in Logan to make it a 6-3 game. YES!! Guzman doubles and drives in Chase making it 7-3. Seriously, where were these guys last night?! Penny intentionally walks Alonso to get to Cam, the Padres have one out and Cam is 0 for 2 tonight... Cam gets on but the runner heading home got out, waaah. Now we have to try and keep this going with Cabrera, shoot me now. Actually never mind about that shooting thing, we kept the game at 7-3. Yay for the Padres remembering how to play baseball!!

There May Not Be Crying in Baseball but There is Bitching

First things first, after yesterdays twitter clusterfuck about booing players I now feel the need to make my opinion known on here. If you think booing in classless than I don't really know what to tell you except that you aren't nearly as in love with the game as you should be. Booing is part of the game. It's going to happen no matter what, like the fucking wave. The whole booing a former player is rude bullshit is just that, bullshit. At one point or another a player that you used to love or at the very least tolerate is going to be with another team and quite possibly become the enemy. Fans often feel betrayed when that happens and don't always act rationally. We know it's not always up to the player to stay and we often only hear what the team wants us to hear which ends in our irrational behavior. As much as we would love for it to happen, it's rare to have Tony Gwynn's out there that will be with one team his entire career. Personally, booing a player shows a sign of respect. Of course, there are exceptions like the douche factor.

Booing as a sign of respect: For example, Ryan Braun, I boo him because I know he is an amazing player. Okay, maybe he isn't the best player to use for an example given the whole testing positive for steroids thing. Let me try again. The Twat Waffle Supreme himself, Andre Ethier. Again, an amazing player and you can't help but hate him for that. Think about all the players you boo and think about their performance. I bet you more often than not they are an amazing player and you boo them because of what they do against your team. Another example of a player being booed out of respect, Pujols. Now to the exceptions...

Booing based off the douche factor: Let's take Adrian for example. I'd boo him not just because he plays for the Dodgers but because I never liked him as a Padre. Yes, I'd cheer for him and get excited when he would help the Padres out but that didn't change the fact that I didn't like him. Him leaving here for more money didn't really make me like him any more. Yes, I understand that baseball is a business and you want to go where the money is but don't express an interest to stay in your hometown when you know full well that you will go where the money is, it makes you come off as a douche. Also the fact that he always seemed so emotionless on the Padres then goes to Boston and LA and all of a sudden is full of emotion is annoying. You know me and how I love my players to show emotion on the field, which is why Jake Peavy and Mat Latos are among some of my favorite players and also why I'd never boo them no matter how dominating they are against the Padres.

Another exception for me, Heath Bell. I loved Bell when he was with the Padres but I did boo him when he came back. In all fairness it wasn't because he left the Padres. It was because he completely ignored a little kid that was trying to get his autograph before the game. This may have been the most polite child I have ever seen. He politely called him "Mr. Bell" for a good 5 minutes while trying to get his attention and in child time, that's an eternity. Hell in my time that's an eternity. Mind you Heath wasn't doing anything and the child was completely ignored. It would have been more understandable had Heath been doing something but he wasn't. After mentioning this on twitter last night during this booing debate, I was reminded that Heath's father has been fighting lung cancer and that has to be taking a toll on him. That and he isn't having the best season with Miami. With those being brought up, I'd take back my booing if I could.

With all this being said, you can't forget that fans are very passionate about their team and like I said, don't always act rationally whether it's booing a former player or jumping on your nuts for forgetting to mention an important fact about a game. And now to the Padres game....

It's the last home series of the season and I'm surprisingly not as sad about it as I thought I'd be or as I should be. The Padres started off tonight's game looking promising, unfortunately nothing happened for us and we let the Giants start the first with a triple to the guy with the bum ankle... Posey. The Giants already capitalized on that and have taken the early 1-0 lead. Posey took a ball to the throat after it "bounced off Cabrera's toe" in the second. First of all, it bounced just in front of his foot. Secondly, if it bounced off Cabrera's foot, he would have lifted his foot instantly out of pain. We all know how a player reacts when they get hit and how they react when they're faking it. Needless to say, I'm not sold on Cabrera being hit in the foot.

Oh lord, the Giants scored two more on a Panda double to make it 3-0 in the third. Fourth inning and the Giants start off with a triple, again. Who needs home runs to be hit when you can get triples?! Home runs are exciting but triples are so much fun to watch too. Thank God, that triple never came around to score. I may have had a bitch fit if it had. Not much is going on anymore except for an interesting twitter conversation about Brian Wilson's beard. I'm convinced it will eat me and for those who don't know, I've just decided that Lincecum and Zito not only stash their weed but grow it in Brian Wilson's beard. Go ahead and try to prove me wrong on that one. I'll wait.

The Giants just fucked up a double play opportunity and now have Padres on second and third with no one out. In all the excitement of the errors I may have popped my shoulder out and back into place. Okay, maybe not that dramatic by I did pop the shit out of my shoulder by throwing my arm up in the air in excitement. Alonso singles in Will to give the Padres their first run of the night and now we have runners on the corners with no outs in a 3-1 ballgame. Aww damn, the Padres blow their opportunity to do work. Back to back hits in the ninth kick off what I can only hope comes down to a Padres W. With those two on and two outs, Quentin steps up to the plate. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed he ends this. Welp, he did end it but not the way I wanted. The Giants take this one 3-1.

Padres vs Dodgers, Officially Less Entertaining Than a Monkey

It's the final game of the season against the dirty Dodgers and the Twat Waffle Supreme. Thankfully Casey took care of the Twat Waffle Supreme in the first and now he's doing work to take care of Adrian. By the second inning the Padres have the bases loaded with one out. If it were any other part of the lineup we might have had a better chance to score. Unfortunately, Casey was up and he hit into an inning ending double play. Waaaah. This is seriously the slowest game on the face of the earth. Not entirely sure what's going on to make it so slow since it's slow enough to not have my full attention but I do know that Kemp almost got drilled in the face and his mamma about had a heart attack.

Ugh, a run finally comes around to score in the fourth and it's Adrian. I've never liked that guy... 1-0 Dodgers, gross. Holy fuck, Alonso laid down a bunt and MADE it. They full on gave it to him but whatever. And in the fifth, the Dodgers load the bases with two outs thanks to a HBP. UGH. Casey hit another batter causing a run to score and him to be pulled from the game. I'm about one more Dodgers run or slow inning away from turning on the Big Bang Theory before I turn on for Grey's Anatomy. Dodgers score again to make it 4-0 and it looks like it's Big Bang time... AND ANOTHER RUN. STOP IT!! The best part of the game by far is the monkey from the Hangover that brought out the first pitch. She is absolutely adorable and I am in love with her and need her so someone please steal her for me.

Padres load the bases in the sixth, yes, sixth... it's 9:30... oh yeah, and Quentin is up with two outs. Well the Padres score one run on a HBP to make it 6-1. Clayton also comes in to pinch run for Quentin. Blah, another Dodgers run scores. For the record the only reason I haven't turned the game off is because I'm waiting for someone in the booth to slip and say "puto" instead of "Punto", I would have slipped so many times by now. During the eighth, Alonso doubles and the Twat Waffle Supreme missed it and about slid head first into the wall. Kotsay drives in two on a one out double to make it a 7-3 game. Will drives in Kotsay to make it 7-4. Looks like we're not giving up just yet. Gross, ANOTHER Dodgers run comes around to score and it's 8-4 in the ninth. Can we just end this game already?? I've already put Grey's off for an hour and a 38 minutes now. The Padres lose 8-4 and the monkey was still the best part of the game... that and listening to Tony ♥

That Shit Cray

Sorry guys, I've been slacking big time and today's probably won't be that great. Sunday I was attempting to watch the Chargers shit show and had the Padres on in the background. I finally gave up on watching the Chargers and put my attention to the Padres but the game was basically over by that point. Monday as you know was an off day so nothing to write about there. Now yesterday, was just a clusterfuck of crazy. Two words, Lakeside shooting. Said clusterfuck kept me trapped in Lakeside all night. If you don't know what it is because you live under a rock, google it. Or I can sum it up and you can google the rest... 15 minute "gun battle" around noon, two cops shot plus the bad guy, the main street (only way I know to get home) closed until around 2am. One impromptu sleepover when kids have to get up to go to school = one zombie me.

Somehow the Dodgers, and I'm assuming the Twat Waffle Supreme was involved in this, scored two runs in the first. I couldn't tell you how anyone scored since I'm barely awake enough to hold my head up. Ugh, the Dodgers scored again in the third and of course I missed it because I was in the middle of a rant about fatties wearing yoga pants and leggings as a substitute for actual pants. Good Lord, I have missed all of the scoring. It's now in the bottom of the fourth and 6-0 Dodgers. What the fuck?! Maybe I should just give up on watching this game and do my assignment that I meant to do last night but cray cray wouldn't let me. Welp, looks like I can give up on the game. I just saw the final score 8-2 Dodgers. No bueno, Padres.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It! The Padres Forget How to Play Spoiler

The Reds clinched the central in today's win against the Dodgers, unfortunately that means a Padres loss tonight clinches for the Giants. I can not reasonably allow the Giants to clinch against us. We MUST play spoiler tonight. No if, and's or but's about it.

In the first, Deno goes to steal second and Belt threw the ball into left causing me to make the ugliest laugh on the face of the earth while Deno moved on to third. Chase grounds out and scores Deno to give us the early 1-0 lead. Fuck balls, the Giants have the bases loaded with no outs and a 2-0 count on Posey. Dear Werner, throw a fucking strike or get the fuck out of the game. The Padres lead didn't last long as Wener gets Posey to fly out and NOW we get someone warming up. Ummm pretty sure you should have done that after he walked Pablo. We all know that Pablo swings at anything and everything. Pence copied Posey and now it's a 2-1 Giants lead. Really?! Did you forget we are playing spoiler tonight?? Somehow Werner managed to get out of the inning without causing too much damage, it's a baseball miracle.

Giants score again in the second to make it 3-1 and to this I have to say "Hey Padres, how about we remember what we are trying to do this game. Here's a hint, losing isn't it.". Seriously Padres, get your shit together. I don't want to see the Giants clinch this weekend. Well, ever but specifically this weekend. Holy fuck, Pablo just made a pretty awesome catch while blowing a bubble and I can't believe I'm throwing a compliment his way. Seriously, he blew a bubble, ran to the railing, caught the ball and his momentum full on flipped him over the railing and he still hung onto the ball. I guess that was his way of celebrating National Gymnastics Day. Motherfucker!! It's now 5-1 Giants in the fourth. Seriously Black, why is Werner still in?!

Sixth inning, Alonso jacks a two  run shot making it a two run game now. Thank you baby Jesus for letting us score some more and please allow us to continue doing so. Amen. Dammit, the Giants score another run on an easily catchable ball and I now take back anything positive I had said or tweeted about Alonso after that two run shot. I could have made that play, it was so easy but no, we have to go fuck it up and  give the Giants an extra out. If Alonso had that, like he should have, the inning would be over and we would still be down by two, instead it's a 6-3 game in the bottom of the sixth. Make that 7-3 Giants. as Deno's throw to home was high and we couldn't make the play at the plate. Chase drives in another run to give him 108 RBI and the NL lead once again as well as making it a 7-4 game in the eighth. Dear Enberg, you don't need to remind us after ever out that the Giants are that much closer to clinching the west. So Belt just hit a home run, making it 8-4, and there is no point in the Padres scoring because the Giants just take the run back. Fuck. I'm officially over this game and this season. Bring on the playoffs!! Giants win 8-4 to which I say, "fuck SF, I hope you get crushed in the playoffs."

The Padres Take a Trip to the Circus...

Holy orange, Batman. The Giants are wearing their bright ass orange jerseys as per usual for home Friday games. I don't know how the fans can tolerate that. Within a minute of seeing it, my eyes already started to hurt. No joke, it's not helping that Kelly is wearing his bright ass yellow necklace either. Why so bright?!

It took four innings before either team scored and thank God it was the Padres that did the it. Chase CRUSHED it to McCovey Cove to make it 1-0 Padres. Thank you, sweets. Gross!! The Giants tie up the game in the bottom of the fourth. Stupid lead off walk. Dammit, the Giants took the lead in the fifth no thanks to another lead off walk. Can we stop doing that Casey??

So the Padres could have tied it in the sixth but Chase either got a late break or he just ran out of gas on the way home. The play at the plate wasn't even close. Though with Posey at catcher, Chase could have done a better job trying to score. We all know Posey is a pussy at the plate now. I mean that would have been the only way we tied the game because Chase definitely should not have been sent. The ball hit the cutoff man before Chase got to third. Seriously, Hoffman, what were you thinking sending him?? Motherfucker, the Giants score AGAIN. STOP IT!! Motherfucking fuck!! Pablo just crushed one to make it 5-1 Giants. Seriously Padres, can we go back to playing spoiler?? I liked that better.

Yasmani got a foul tip to the jaw and I thought he died for a second. Like the awesome guy he is, he got up and smiled. Shockingly the Giants fans applauded when he got up. The game overall sucked ass, the only highlight was Chase's home run. The circus unfortunately won 5-1 and we didn't do our only job of postponing their "we're in the playoffs" celebration. Waaaaah.

Ah, Crap

One batter into the game and the D-Backs already had to take out Young. I like our chances. Logan singles and Chase walks, can we not walk Chase?? I'd like to see him end up with the NL RBI lead, thanks. Yasmani lucked out and got an infield hit, not sure I would have scored it that but I'll allow it. Padres load the bases with one out and Alonso up. Ugh, Alonso. (Trying to do like Friday and not get excited for him so he will hit a grand slam). Alonso didn't hit a grand slam but he did hit a sac fly to score Logan from third. On first look, I couldn't figure out how Logan was safe then they showed the replay and the ball got to the plate in plenty of time. However the catcher tagged him in his chest and I don't know why he felt the need to tag him so high up. Whatever, the Padres have the early 1-0 lead. UGH, the D-Bags tied the game in the first. I don't need this to be an "anything you can do, I can do better" games. I kinda have a lab report to write. Ah, crap. The D-Bags take the lead on an RBI double. If only Logan's throw would have been a smidgen lower and by smidgen I mean a whole person lower.

Apparently the D-Bags scored a third run at some point between the first inning and the seventh. I managed to stop paying any kind of attention somewhere in there. Hopefully the Padres will pick it up and get me back into this game. Cabrera gets a two out double stretched triple?? Not sure how you want to score it since there was a bobble and what not but I guess the official scorekeepers gave him a triple. Whatevs. Of course, we couldn't bring him home. Cabrera made the most awkwardly amazing pirouetting play to get a double play to end the D-Bags half of the seventh. Even though it was aesthetically ugly, the pirouette itself, it was still fun-ish. I think it just made me want to do some handstand pirouettes more than it impressed me. BRB while I go do some...

Deno kicks off the top half of the ninth with a single and two base error. Let's get this going Padres!! A sac fly by Will brings Deno around to score to make it 3-2 D-Bags. What I want to know is why the Zona heat hasn't made us hit home runs like people keep claiming is why we were hitting them here the past week or however long it has been. Well, the Padres lose 3-2 and now I can get to writing that lab report. Super.

SD Sports Overload Day 2

Like last week, the Chargers and Padres were playing at the same time. Up until the fifth inning I had mainly been watching the Chargers game. I kept thinking the Rockies score was the Padres score and was excited that both my teams were winning... then I flipped it over in the fifth and realized we were losing. That didn't last long as the Padres scored EIGHT, I repeat EIGHT runs in their half of the fifth. Most of which I believe were scored with two outs. The Padres lead 11-5 heading into the sixth.

I hate that football and baseball overlap. Typically the Chargers would have been blacked out and I wouldn't have had a problem deciding which game to watch in the main screen on picture in picture but because the Chargers were honoring Seau today, of course they sold enough tickets ahead of time to not be blacked out and fuck with my sports watching. I'd really appreciate it if the Chargers could coordinate it so that they wouldn't have the ball when the Padres are up to bat. I'm completely appalled that the cameramen keep showing beach shots and there are people at the beaches!! Do these fucks not know that both our teams are home and there are sports to be watched?! Get the fuck off the beach and head to a bar or something and watch some sports, the beach will be there tomorrow, I promise.

The Rockies scored on a Cabrera throwing error to make it an 11-6 game now. I hate Cabrera more often than not. Oh Jesus, the Rockies have loaded the bases in the eighth with one out and are about to walk in a run. NO BUENO!! Aaaaaand they walked in the run to make it 11-7. OH FUCK, the Rockies just hit a grand slam to tie the game at 11 in the eighth with only one out. We do know we aren't playing in Colorado right?? Because it sure doesn't look like it. Thatcher does work to strand runners on first and second and now it's onto the bottom of the ninth and I can only hope the Padres can end it here. I'd like to go lay down before the Sunday Night Football game. With Chase up, the Rockies balk and move the Cabrera into scoring position. You fucks, I needed you to pitch to Chase so that he can keep getting more RBI and distance himself from that assclown Braun. AND THE PADRES WALK OFF!! Thank you Alonso. The Padres win 12-11 in 9. Holy hell, that was a good game.

Hang a Star on That One

Happy Jerry Coleman day!! The Padres honored Jerry Coleman today and the only thing I could think is "I'm seriously concerned for Jerry Coleman's health right now. A man his age should not be in a suit on the field in 100 degree weather". I was in no way saying that to be mean. Seriously, I felt like I was going to get heat stroke in a tank top and a skirt when I went out for 10 minutes earlier and I'm probably a quarter of his age. They showed Tony hanging the star and it made me wonder how long he has been wanting to do that for. I feel like it's been a very long time. After all, he did pretty much get to see that all the time as a player so I bet it must have been pretty cool for him to do that.

Casey is looking good through the first two innings and I hope he has a repeat of his debut. To kick off the scoring in the second, Parrino should have been out  but the Rockies fielders decided to tackle each other and jar the ball loose allowing Cam to score and Parrino to make it to second. The Rockies do realize they aren't supposed to knock the ball out of each others gloves right?? The Padres take the early 1-0 lead.

Guzman drives in three on a home run to make it a 4-0 game in the third. Oh and did I mention, it was a two out three run home run?? No?? Well it was. Deno got drilled in the wrist during the fourth inning but apparently is fine as he's still chilling at first. The Rockies finally get to Casey in the seventh to make it 4-1 with runners on second and third with no outs. Yikes. Come on Casey, get through this inning. Or let another run come around to score and still not record an out... 4-2 Padres. Brach comes in and another run comes around to score then a throwing error moves the runner into scoring positions, 4-3 Padres and I want this game to end now. Alonso makes an amazing snowball catch on a failed bunt attempt. Like seriously, I was very impressed that he was capable of coming in that fast. I think that was more impressive than the actual snowball catch. OH, DOCTOR HANG A STAR ON THAT ONE!! Of course Luke ended the game on a star worthy play. The Padres win 4-3 and I don't think the game could have ended any better for Jerry Coleman day.

We're Gonna Party Like It's 1999...

So I haven't made a post in a short lifetime. Tuesday I was exhausted by the time the game started and as per usual on a Wednesday home game, I was in class. Being that yesterday was an off day I should have caught up and watched Wednesdays game and the fact that we are 6.5 out of a wild card spot (who saw that coming?!) but I was a little busy preparing for 90's night.

I'm not even about to try and list where we are in the WC race or any of that good stuff that I would usually do so I'm going to sum up 90's night. Shitty first inning for Cashner. Alonso grand slam. Colleen and myself screaming like fan girls when 'N Sync began playing. Me getting mad that neither Alonso or Yasmani used a Ricky Martin song for their walk up music. There were also some bubble gum blowing contests...

Clearly, some of us have better gum blowing skills than others. Then the Macarena played and this happened but not before Colleen and myself jumped out of our seats in excitement. Shortly after that I got felt up by a drunk chick who loved the velvet leo I was wearing and told me if she were a guy she would rape me. Oh yeah and she complimented my hair. Closest I got to being hit on that night.  Everyone (Richard, Chris, Aaron, Colleen, Niki, myself and random drunk girl) all singing just about every song that played and about a quarter of those me yelling "I DID GYMNASTICS TO THIS!!" true story. Watched a 90's themed firework show and continued our singing and dancing to the songs. You would think we were still living in the 90's with how excited we got hearing them. After the game we met up with Sean and Katie at Bubs and yelled at people for being dipshits and honking/yelling at a cab that had been broken down since we got there. Pretty sure we thought a fight or two was about to go down because of the cab. So yeah, besides the three of us girls looking ridiculous and me wanting to be dressed somewhat normal, the night was pretty damn fun and I learned one thing, the 90's haven't been gone long enough for people to dress up for 90's "retro" night. Let's just say, I'm not dressing up for anymore themed games.

SD Sports Overload Complete With a Double Cycle Watch

I know this is a Padres blog BUT you will have to put up with some Chargers tonight since someone decided it would be smart to put the Chargers on the late game for MNF. Even though my priorities lay with baseball, as was proven when I realized I was the only person wearing a baseball shirt in a sea of football jerseys on campus today, I will be watching the Chargers game as well. I'm going to be on SD overload. The Padres trying to play spoilers AND the Chargers playing the Raiders. My mind is going to explode with San Diego goodness... or mediocrity.

My boy Logan kicks off the game with a one out triple. I love triples, they are so much fun to watch. I'd hate to be the one getting the triple but still triples are one of my favorite things. The Cards walked Chase and a wild pitch causes him to take second putting runners and second and third with one out for Quentin. Quentin walks and now the Padres have the bases loaded for Yasmani. If this Cards pitcher can't located anything, he's not going to last much longer in this game. Yasmani struck out and so did Alonso. What a waste!!

Dammit!! I turned the Chargers on as the main game and now the Cards are winning 2-0. What the fuck?! Logan ties up the game in the second with a two run double and that makes me feel so much better. I don't enjoy losing to the Cards. Also, I don't enjoy the Chargers losing to the Raiders already. Step it up guys!! Cam puts us up by two with a two run shot and I love it!! Oh yeah, the Chargers tied it. Chargers scored a TD and shortly after the Padres drove in yet another run to make it 5-2 Padres and 10-3 Chargers. Alonso drives in Guzman and advances Yasmani  to third with a single and now we are winning 6-2. Also I'm watching the Reds game because they can't fucking end this extra innings so I'm on sports overload right now.

Totally just yelled at the Reds game to hurry up and end because I have other games to focus on too... they are on their way to the 13th inning, fuckers. The Chargers are about to go into halftime and fucking Holliday actually touched the plate when he scored this time, Padres lead 6-3 in the sixth. So we took Stults out and put Vincent in and he hits Freese, not okay. Logan starts off the bottom half of the sixth with a single which means all he needs is a home run and we will FINALLY have cycle.

At this point in time, I have been watching baseball for over 5 hours, 7 if you break it up per game. Five+ for the Reds and 2+ for the Padres. Chargers add on 3 to make it 13-3 and the Padres are still sitting on a 6-3 game. GROSS!! The Cards have the bases loaded for that fucker Holliday in the seventh with one out. I'd like to order a double play here. Umm totally called that double play. Suck it. Somewhere between the Padres getting out of a mess and the Reds finally winning, the Raiders added on 3 and so did the Chargers to make it a 16-6 game?? Yeah, I'm super glad I've got the Padres game as the main game. Cam scores on someone's single to make it 7-3 Padres, there's too much going on but I'm LOVING this!! A throwing error brings in Venable and now its 8-3 Padres. As it stands now, Logan and Cam will not be getting a cycle tonight unless some miracle inning happens where we bat around a gazillion times. Yes, Cam is a triple shy of the cycle but I didn't even realize it because like I said, there's too much going on.  Luckily, he will be up second in the eighth so lets keep our fingers crossed he gets a triple and somehow the inning lasts long enough for Logan to get a home run so that we can really make Padres history. The Padres loaded the bases with two outs for Yasmani and I'm hoping he pulls through this time but he didn't, waaaah.

Cam's up for cycle watch BUT Alonso is on first and how the fuck is Cam supposed to get a triple with that slow motherfucker on first. No worries about Cam trying to get the cycle because they walked him but like I said, there was no way Cam was getting the triple with Alonso on first. If Alonso was on second, then yes a triple would have been plausible. Cabrera loads the bases and there's no outs, PLEASE get to Logan, PLEASE. Venable singles in two runs and now it's 10-3 Padres and still there's no outs. Please, please, please, please, please let Logan come up. This game is stressing me out big time right now. Base hit for Deno and it's 11-3 and now Logan is up!! PLEASE GOD, LET LOGAN HIT A HOME RUN. God, clearly doesn't listen to me because Logan struck out, not for lack of trying but my heart thanks him for that because I'm pretty sure it was about to stop. Chase grounds into a DP to end the inning and officially end cycle watch  unless by some freak chance the Cards tie up the game. The Padres STILL don't have a cycle but we won 11-3 so I guess I'm okay with that.

Suck It MLB, the Padres Possess the NL RBI Leader

Happy football Sunday, just kidding, it's still baseball time so football can suck it. I spent a whole hour "watching" football while trying to wake up. Pretty sure I saw maybe two or three plays the entire time and couldn't wait for the Padres game to start...

FSSD is having some kind of technical difficulties and it's making the audio sound like I'm listening to a game in the John Dillinger days. Think that scene in Public Enemies where Johnny Depp is going through one of the jails, I believe, and the guards are sitting there listening to the game on a radio. That scene was totally a huge error because with the time of year that was supposed to be taking place in the two teams wouldn't have been playing each other. I believe it was the Cubs and Yankees. I don't remember, go watch it and you'll find the error. Aww boo!! They fixed the technical difficulties. I liked it in the broken way it was.

Cam kicks off the scoring in the second inning with a double to drive in Quentin. Parrino scores Guzman on a sac fly as well as moving Cam to third to give the Padres the 2-0 lead. Fingers crossed we can hold onto the lead this game. The D-Backs cut the lead in half and Guzman saved the game from being tied. I'm a fucking zombie right now so I don't even know how any of these runners got on much less how they scored. If you don't believe that I'm a fucking zombie right now, I managed to miss the entire Padres half of the third and I never got off the couch. Yeah and I just missed the entire bottom half of the Padres fourth too. What the fuck, am I falling asleep with my eyes open or something?! Seriously, how am I only managing to catch the D-Backs half of the innings??

Padres half of the fifth is the first half inning of theirs I've seen since the second. Parrino legged out a base hit then managed to get doubled up because Eaton had one of the nicest throws from center to first I think I have ever seen. So I pause the game to go take a shower and wake myself up and I see the twitter exploding with grand slam tweets. I just started the bottom half of the sixth with Deno's home run. Fuck the twitter. Padres lead 3-1 now. Sweet deal. With Logan and Quentin on first and second, the D-Backs make a pitching change and the Padres toss up Alonso. Alonso flies out to make the second out of the inning. Totally thought this was the point of the game where the grand slam was going to be hit because I didn't pay attention to the line up at all.

Alright, Padres half of the seventh up now and I know there's a Chase grand slam coming up in this inning to give him the NL lead in RBI like a boss. With one out and a walk recorded to start this inning we put Yasmani in to pinch hit. My boy strikes out which just means Chase's slam will be even more epic because it will have been done with two outs. Have I mentioned how much I love this team?! Deno gets on and Logan gets walked but you guys already knew that. HOLY SHIT BALLS, you knew based off the sound the ball made off the bat that that ball was gonzo. That slam puts the Padres up 7-1 and a Quentin jack puts the Padres up 8-1 in the seventh. The D-Backs score on in the ninth but I laugh because we still won 8-2, took the series and are in possession of the NL RBI leader.

The Padres Lost but Thank God For Last Minute Plans

Thank God, it's Padres time. I spent too much time today earning points on my girl card. Seriously, I got my nails done and spent the last half hour or so looking at/doing Britney Spears choreography and wishing I took a random dance class. I need a wall of mirrors for this shit.

Once again, Tony is in the booth, I love having him in there and hearing his insight. I always feel like I learn something new when he's there. Oh no!! Casey Kelly starts off the game giving up a two run home run. I liked him better when he didn't give up any runs. Maybe he needs his dad and brother at all of his games. Fortunately for Kelly, he managed to get out of the rest of the inning without causing anymore harm and we have been on fire offensively so there is still hope for a Padres win. The Padres kick off their half of the first with back to back singles. The Padres tie the game up at 2 with a Guzman bases clearing double. I love this team!! I can only imagine that we would be the front runners of the playoff race had we had this chemistry working all season.

Sadly the D-Backs take back the lead in the second and it looks to be one of THOSE games. Ah, crap. Kelly gives up another home run to make it 4-2 D-Backs in the third. Stop it, Casey!! AND ANOTHER home run to make it 5-3. Dude, Casey, stop it. Seriously. Welp, finally Black pulls Kelly after two and a third innings with runners at the corners. Poor kid but at least he's getting the experience. Black replaced Kelly with Lizard Man and he gets the second out in one pitch. Please tell me he is going to pitch like that the rest of the time he's in. Shit on a stick!! Another run scores and Upton tried to be a greedy bastard and score yet another run but gets thrown out at the plate, D-backs now winning 6-2. Clearly, I was wrong about it being one of THOSE games. For those who haven't figured it out, I was referring to the back and forth games.

The Padres kick off their half of the third with two walks. Good start, now lets score some runs and get back into this game!! ARGH, we couldn't do anything with those walks and now I'm sad, sleepy and sad. YIKES!! Logan got some spikes to the shin as he got taken out at second trying to make the inning ending double play. NO HURTING LOGAN, you fuckbags!! I can't even lie, there's a part of me that wanted to see the cleats stuck in Logan's leg. I'm glad they weren't but still that would have been kinda cool looking. Lizard Man was asked to bunt and didn't do shit with it. If you didn't know he was a pitcher, you could have easily figured it out by his stance. It was horrific. Like seriously, I think my stance is better than his and lately mine has been looking a little stripper-esque. And the Padres are chipping away at the lead with a Logan two  out, two run homer to say "Fuck your cleats, bro" ahahaha, I love it!!

Ah, fuck, not another D-Backs home run?! Gaw, can we stop doing that?! Every time we get closer to coming back, the fuckbags from the desert extend their lead. My boy Parrino enters the game looking like he rushed out of the clubhouse with half his jersey unbuttoned. Either that or he's trying to get my attention to meet him after the game. Ha, I kid. With Parrino's single, the Padres have runners at first and second with one out and Deno up. Lets crush one, Deno, show us why we extended you. Deno singles in Cam and the Padres are once again down by two. It looked as if Logan was about to drive in another run but the D-Backs 2B had a fantastical catch to prevent that from happening. Despite the fact that the Padres are losing, this game has been very enjoyable because Tony has his sassy pants on tonight and I'm absolutely loving it. Oh whoa, somehow the D-Backs scored again. Sorry last minute plans to go out tonight are happening. Apparently from what the tv said at the bars I just got back from, the Padres lost 8-5. Super disappointing but it's all good, new game tomorrow... err later today.

Chase Is a BAMF and Tony Gwynn Needs to Announce Forever

So the stadium looks ridiculously empty and it's pretty sad given that it's Beerfest and we all know how much everyone on my twitter feed loves beer and on their feeds. Yasmani does it double style to give the Padres the early 2-0 lead. Do I need to make a Yasmani shirt?! Correction, do I need to make my sissy make me a Yasmani shirt?! Okay, second inning and it's starting to fill in. Since I know we are WAY better fans than Dodger fans I know it's not that everyone was showing up late, they must have been finishing off Beerfest. Cabrera made fantastic play to get the out at first even after he got taken the fuck out himself. He deserves a high five for that because I definitely didn't think we were going to get anything after he got taken out.

With Josh Byrnes in the booth, Chase CRUSHED a three run home run to make it 5-0 Padres. He totally did that because Byrnes is in the booth. Even though he didn't know he was, he sooooo did it. That was his way of saying "Give me a fucking extension". Seriously. So sorry if none of that makes much sense. It doesn't even make much sense to me. Gross, I go to get something to eat and the D-Backs score 2?! What the fuck did I just miss?? Stupid Cashner...

Top of the seventh, the D-Backs score off Bass to make it 5-3 Padres. Can we stop letting them score?? Please?? Oh yeah, it's Cashner and Bass' first appearance since their respective injuries. Highlight of the game, Thayer shaving his mustache. Okay, so it wasn't part of the game but it was debuted during the game and holy fuck does he look like a normal human now. Bye, bye Yosemite Same stache. Oh no's!! Tommy Layne came in to replace Thayer and gave up a double to clear the bases and tie the game at 5. Poor kid. Now Brach is coming in to hopefully finish this inning without giving up anymore runs.

Chase does it AGAIN. The Padres now lead 6-5 because Chase is a BAMF and is working his way to getting bank. I absolutely love that Tony just went on a little rant about how people say you can't hit home runs at Petco and included basically "blah, blah, blah" except I think it was closer to "nah, nah, nah" but it was epic no matter what and just made me love him even more. Here comes Luke in to close out the game and move this win streak to three. Lets do this!! Padres win 6-5 and the D-Backs can suck it!!

Suck It, Twat Waffle Supreme... and the Rest of the Dodgers

First things first, the Padres extended Deno and have been handing out extensions left and right to everyone except the one player everyone wants to get one, Chase. This makes perfect sense. Lets extend guys that haven't been player of the week much less player of the month and not extend the only one to be player of the month. Chase starts the game off driving in two on a double turned triple on a throwing error. Pretty sure we have scored first in all three games against LA. Yasmani collects a base hit and an RBI to make it a 3-0 Padres lead in the first. Gross the Dodgers scored because Logan slipped which went from being a for sure double play to a run scoring single.

UGH, Adrian drives in run number two for the Dodgers to make it a 3-2 game in the third. The Padres loaded the bases and I'm not sure why since the twat waffle supreme is up now. I'm literally terrified at what's going to happen right now. THANK GOD!! He popped up and the runners couldn't advance. In my head, he hit a grand slam and that was the game. This game is so boring!! Motherfucker, Ramirez just tied the game and now the twat waffle supreme is up. Once again, he pops up, thank God.

Because nothing interesting has happened since the Dodgers tied the game I'm going to go ahead and do my random Leila complaint. Coming back from the commercial break she was talking about our farm system being in the playoffs and legitimately sounded surprised. Really, you do know that we have a good farm system, right?? You can't be that ignorant can you?? Isn't she supposed to be in Texas now?? Finally, the Padres score in the seventh to take back the lead and now this game can end right here, no need to play nine innings tonight. Twat waffle supreme alert, strike out to start the eighth. Suck it.

With one out in the top of the ninth, the Padres have runners at first and third with Chase up. Tony is adamant about Chase not getting anything to hit here. I'm going to go ahead and agree with Tony just because I love him and trust him. He could tell me the sky is green and I'd believe him. Chase strikes out and now it's up to Quentin to give us some more insurance runs. Please give us some insurance runs. After we double steal, Quentin grounds out. No bueno Carlos!! Time for Luke to close this game out. YAY, PARRINO!! I've missed him!! Luke hit Victornio and Layne came in to get out Adrian. THANK GOD, Adrian is slow as fuck as the ball was bobbled at second. Padres take the series and win 4-3. Love you guys and love you even more for keeping the twat waffle supreme quiet.

Extra Innings: The Padres Revenge

Well, Deno started tonight off right, first pitch = home run... off Kershaw. I love that Tony just said the pick off at third is a play we don't see often, that's the second time I've seen that play today. FUCK, the twat waffle supreme, Ethier just tied the game with a home run of his own. Go away, Ethier, no one likes you besides the equally twatty Dodger fans. However, he was tolerable when his walk up song was Forgot About Dre. And by tolerable I mean I'd be too busy singing the song than to get mad when he drove in a run or a million.

The game is still tied 1-1 heading into the sixth and I can't even begin to comprehend just how boring this one is. Adrian doubled in the sixth to left and if Quentin would have hustled a little to get to the ball there is no doubt in my mind we would have been able to get that slow fuck out. Of course we get Adrian in a rundown and prevent the runners from moving up. Adrian is so not the guy you want in a rundown if you're the Dodgers. Now the twat waffle supreme is up with one out and runners on first and second... he got out, yes!! And this happened....
So it is written, so shall it be done...

I find it sad that the attempt to get #TWS to trend is the most exciting thing going on during the game. At some point we put Thayer in and now the Dodgers have runners at second and third with one out and Victorino up. Like I tweeted earlier, I can't hate Victorino because of his walk up song (Welcome to Jamrock) however, I can strongly dislike him. Oh Jesus, a run scores to put the Dodgers up 2-1 and we get Victorino in a rundown only to not make ANY outs because NO ONE was covering second. Whoever didn't cover second when they were supposed to, you're fired. So apparently an out fielder should have covered second there. I feel like maybe Thayer should have tried instead of standing there all "which way  did he go, George". Oh did I mention, the Dodgers scored again so now it's 3-1 Dodgers. Yeah.

On one swing, Yasmani ties the game up at 3 in the top half of the eighth. I love me some Yasmani in case you guys hadn't already figured that out. FSSD just replayed the double steal of home against the Dodgers earlier this season and it made my little baseball heart so happy to see that again. Muahhahaha the twat waffle supreme was shut down again to make out number two for the Dodgers half of the eighth. I'm seriously amazed every time Abreu comes in to bat. I feel like he is at least a million years old. And onto extras we will go... again.

It was an uneventful tenth if you don't count Layne striking out the side... onto the eleventh we will go!! Cam singles, Everth bunts and ends up with Cam and Everth at second and third with no outs. Lets do work boys!! Alexi grounds out and the runners can't advanced but we still have two outs to try as I channel the Little Engine That Could, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can", for the Padres. The Dodgers walked Will to load the bases with Logan up. "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can". Dear Padres, double steal home again, please and thank you. Logan drove in two on a single to make it 5-3 Padres. So it's not a double steal of home but it produced the same thing. It's time for Chase to be a badass again with runners at the corners and still one out. Chase drives in another run to make it 6-3 still leaving runners at the corners and one out. Quentin strikes out but we still have runners at the corner and Yasmani up. He jacked one earlier so why not jack another one?? Sadly, Yasmani struck out to end the inning but it's all good because we've got that three run lead I'm loving so much. Luke gets the twat waffle supreme to fly out for the first out of the bottom half of the inning. Two more and we are good to start a new win streak. Ground ball to Logan and now Luke just needs to make a few more quality pitches and I will be a very happy girl. Dammit, Luke walked the batter and now has to face one more than necessary. Luke gets out Punto, or if you're me, Puto, and the Padres win 6-3 in eleven.

Pack a Vest for Your Jimmy in the City of Sex

Happy Labor Day, y'all!! Well at least that's what Chase's home run, to give us the early 2-0 lead, said... because as a true Californian I would never ever say "y'all" ever. As soon as I turned the game on I immediately started singing "California Love", apparently the fact that we are in LA made me feel the need to sing it and title this what I have. I'm really hoping that the Padres make this a legit title. Eh, who am I kidding, it's LA, you ALWAYS need protection of some kind there.

GROSS!! Adrian as a Dodger. GROSS!! I really wanted us to hit him just as a big ol fuck you but we walked him... I don't appreciate that. Nothing exciting has happened so I'll give you a third inning Adrian update, fly out. By the fourth inning, I'm ready for bed. No more excitement has happened since Chase's home run in the first. We get our first two runners on, make an out and then get intentionally walked to load the bases for the pitcher. Werner, who for the life of me cannot remember who he is... and it's his third start. Oops. As expected, Werner makes an out and now it's up to Everth to do something with this bases loaded opportunity. UGH, he did absolutely nothing with it. Seriously, lets get some more scoring in, Padres because I'm about to fall asleep.

The Dodgers score in the bottom of the fifth because Baker is a piece of shit. He got the ball way before the runner was near home and STILL couldn't get him out. WHAT THE FUCK, BRO?! As  the replay showed "the fuck" was a bobble. Ugh. Still doesn't change my opinion of Baker. I get so mad when he's in instead of Yasmani. Sixth inning Adrian alert, ground out to first. MOTHERFUCKING TWAT WAFFLE!! The Dodgers tie the game on a Hanley Ramirez home run to center and Cam was inches away from making an AMAZING catch to rob it. For a hot second, I thought he did have it. Ugh, my little baseball heart just broke and continues to break every time they replay Cam just missing it.

With Clayton pinch running, the Padres take the lead on a Chase single. Yay, Padres!! Eighth inning Adrian alert, base hit, UGH. It's okay, he's slow as fuck so unless Kemp homers, which isn't unreasonable, Adrian won't be coming around to score so we good, bro. Luke comes in to end the inning and just like I said, Adrian didn't come around to score, Padres still lead 3-2 heading into the ninth. The Padres went down in order and now it's time to rely on Luke to finish this game. Luke gave up a home run to that fuck twat, Ethier to tie the game at three. Not okay, Luke, not okay!! Thank you baby Jesus, this game is going into extras.

Logan gets drilled to start the Padres half of the tenth. No hitting Logan allowed!! Logan got his payback by stealing second and now they intentionally walk Alonso to get to Deno because you know, that makes sense. As I was about to write that I guess it does make sense since it puts a force at any base, that's exactly what happened. Deno grounded to third for a double play, waaaaaaah. We seriously brought Brach in to pitch the Dodgers half of the tenth. I don't trust him and would not put him in, then again I think we used all of our pitchers I trust already. Pretty sure one of the Dodgers walk up songs is Welcome to Jamrock and I now need to get my Damian Marley on. Thank God, Brach got out of the inning and Adrian wasn't the one to end the game. Onto the eleventh!! Well that was a very unproductive eleventh... onto the Dodgers half. The Dodgers have runners at the corners with two out and a Dodgers base hit wins the game. Fucking twat waffles.

Casey Kelly, Take Two

Today is Casey's second start since being called up and we can only hope he is as dominant today as he was in his first start. Meanwhile, I can only hope his brother isn't there distracting the camera men and myself from watching the game. Chase hits a two run shot in the first to give Casey a lead to work with. What a good teammate. To start the third, Logan gets hit by the pitch and I bet Quentin is glad that wasn't him. Logan retaliates that HBP with a stolen base and makes me think he's laughing about it in his head like I would be. Chase drives in Logan on a single to make it 3-0 Padres.

Boo, the Rockies got a run around and then Alexi has a shitty wild throw that luckily didn't cost us anything. Gonzalez hits a ground rule double and this is one of those moments when I love ground rule doubles. Instead of the Rockies putting their second run on the board, the runners were held at second and third. Unfortunately the next batter doubles in the runners and now we are tied at three. Poor Casey. God dammit, Casey!! He just gave up a two run home run and now the stupid ass Rockies are winning 5-3. UGH!! HOLY SHIT, CASEY, STOP THAT!! An error by Alexi ended up costing us two more runs as Casey gave up yet another two run home run. The bright side, it's only the third inning. The dark side, it's only the thing inning.

The Padres are beginning to chip away the lead in the fourth on a Deno single to score Cam and move up Alexi as Deno took second on the throw home. If any of that made sense to you. Pretty sure I worded that extremely awkwardly but it makes perfect sense to me. Chase is an RBI machine driving in his fourth and fifth runs to make it a 7-6 game. Come on, boys, we got this!! Chase's amazeballness forces the Rockies to make a pitching change and it's only the fourth inning.

In the sixth inning Casey tries bunting Alexi over, unfortunately he bunted it in the air and Nelson made a nice sliding catch to get the first out of the inning. Yes, Logan drives in Alexi to tie the game and takes second on the throw home. Me gusta!! Logan comes around to score on another Chase single. Make that six RBI for Chase and an 8-7 lead for the Padres. Alexi drives in Grandal in the seventh to make it a 9-7 game.

Gross, Brach gives up a three run home run to give the Rockies the 10-9 lead in the seventh. And to think I thought I might be able to spend some time in the pool today, silly me. Welp, Brach walks the first runner, then a wild throw trying to pick him off puts the runner on third. I do not like this guy. We should not be losing to the Rockies. That run comes around to score on a base hit and now it's 11-9 Rockies in the eighth. PS. Totally like that the Rockies played S&M in the background because you know that's totally a kid friendly song. Finally, Black pulls Brach but he put in Thatcher. I don't much like Thatcher but he needs to do work and get us out of this inning without any more damage being done. Thatcher got us out of the inning without causing anymore damage. Cam comes around to score in the top half of the ninth of an Alexi single to put us down by one now. Please comeback, Padres, please. Unfortunately we didn't have enough left in us to make a complete comeback as we lose 11-10 on 20 hits. Waaaaaaaah!!

The Padres Lose As I Sit In a Silent Rage

As per usual with a Volquez start, I'm pissed off. First inning and he allows the Rockies to score to give them the early 1-0 lead. I'm hoping our offense is here again today because I can't stand watching the Rockies win and I think that stems back to game 163. With two outs the Padres get back to back hits, putting runners at the corner and Alexi up. Please, Alexi, jack one. Yeah, he didn't jack one. Grrr. Welp, the Rockies extend their lead to two on that jack that I wanted Alexi to have. Fucking Volquez. Two more Rockies come around to score in the fifth inning and I have reached the point of being so annoyed that we have Volquez that I no longer yell at him but sit here in a silent rage. Aaaand now it's 5-0 Rockies in the fifth with runners at the corners and two outs. Pretty sure you should have taken Volquez out after the fourth run was scored. Luckily the Padres got out of the inning by preventing a double steal.

To start off the sixth inning, Will hit a solo home run to give me hope that we can come back from this. I mean no lead is safe in Coors Field but you know how the Padres can be. Gross, in the eighth inning the Rockies pinch hit Giambi. His arms gross me the fuck out. The Rockies now have the bases loaded with one out thanks to Cabrera just missing the ball to get out Giambi's steroided ass. Aaaaan the Rockies just hit a grand slam to make it 9-1. GOD DAMMIT, LIZARD MAN!! Welp, the Padres soooooo didn't come back from that. Not exactly sure where the offense went for us tonight but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it makes its way back to us tomorrow.

Blue Moon and Bobbles Makes For a Padres W

Well it looks like Quentin started off the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run. I missed it and how Grandal got on as well. Sorry, I had to inform people about the cuts the Chargers made. Alonso makes the first out of the inning moving Grandal to third and hopefully we can bring him around with these two outs we still have. HA HA HA HA HA the Rockies bobble and Grandal comes around to score making it a 2-0 lead. Not only did we score but Logan ends up being safe at first. Thank you bad Rockies fielding. During Cam's at bat, the Rockies third baseman made up for their SS's bobble, stealing Cam of a possible double. Fortunately we managed to keep out of the double play there. Thanks Cam's speed.

Will triples with one out in the third to hopefully kick off the scoring this inning. Chase drives in Will on a sacrifice and now we are winning 3-0 with Quentin up. They walk Quentin and now it's on Yasmani to continue this inning. Sadly, the inning ended and what's even more sad, the first runner in the third for the Rockies got on, on yet another bad hop. What's going on in Colorado right now?? So many bad hops and it's only the third. The ball gets away from Yasmani and the Rockies sole base runner is now on third with one out. Dear Clayton, this would be the perfect time to strike someone out. Clayton didn't listen to me, he got an out but the run also scored and now it's a 3-1 game. I don't trust any lead in Colorado so I don't appreciate this whole letting the Rockies score thing.

With two outs and two on in the fourth the Rockies call for a pitching change. Do they really think we are that dangerous or that their pitcher sucks so much that he can't even get through the fourth inning?? Apparently so. We did a bunch of nothing with that two on two outs thing. Clayton takes a ball off his knee in the fourth and Enberg questions whether or not he's okay. Did he forget that Clayton used to play football?? Pretty sure a ball bouncing off his leg hurts a lot less than being sacked. Yasmani had one of the most perfect throws to second I think I have ever seen in my life. I honestly don't think that could have been any better.

Quentin with a ground rule double to make it 4-1 Padres in the fifth. Pretty sure this was one of those moments when I like the ground rule double. I have my moments with them and I feel bipolar when it comes to that. One pitch into the bottom of the sixth, the Rockies jack a home run to cut our lead in half, 4-2. Aaaaand another Rockies home run makes it 4-3 Padres. Okay, I'm really getting worried now. After the scary inning Clayton had in the sixth, scary to me, why on Gods green earth would we send him out again for the seventh?! You let him pitch to two batters and then pull him. Seriously?! I would have been more content starting the inning with a new pitcher.

In the top of the eighth, Cam shows off his baseball intelligence and takes second on a bobble that should have had him at first. After the bobbled play, the Rockies promptly walked Guzman then struck out Everth for the second out of the inning. With runners on first and second the Padres pinch hit Deno and the only thing he needs to do is make sure the ball drops in between fielders so that Cam can utilize his speed and give us back some of those runs. Cam trying to steal third turns into a hit and run and the Rockies SS had no play once the ball got to him, allowing Cam to score to make it 5-3 Padres in eight.

Ugh, as I start to think that this game will be over with only three batters, Luke gives up the Rockies third solo shot of the game and they pull within one. Please don't let the Rockies score anymore. PLEASE. Awww BULLSHIT!! Alonso tagged the runner before he touched first!! Cabrera's throw was high and did pull Alonso off the bag BUT he did in fact tag the runner before the runners foot hit the bag. What a fucking rip off!! Lets get a double play and end this inning, boys!! Alexi covered a shit ton of ground to get the second out of the inning which should have been the final out but the ump is an ignoramus. Please, please, please strike this batter out, Luke, please!! The Padres win this one 5-4 and have won 10 of their last 11 games. If only we played like this all season.

Better Late Than Never

So I'm more than a day late on this game but better late than never right?? As long as the Padres continue to play day games during this semester, like they will, my posts will either be late or nonexistent. Oh hey, Kyle Blanks, totally forgot we still had him. Actually no, I knew we still had him because I had to correct my friend a few weeks ago when he tried to tell his friends that we let Blanks go. He needs to leave the baseball facts to me, thanks. Dude, sorry for how completely random my posts are. I noticed this earlier today and once again just now. I'm clearly writing this how I am and say what pops into my head when it does and without any proper transitioning.

While discussing the changes that are going to be made, such as a new scoreboard (Thank God), Enberg interrupts with so much excitement at a Logan RBI double to give the Padres the 1-0 lead with runners on second and third and one out. Cam drives in Kotsay on a sacrifice to put us up by two now in the fourth. I was beginning to wonder when the scoring was going to start. Ugh, the Braves score in the top half of the fifth to cut our lead in half. I didn't approve of this!!

What turns out to be a massive brain fart for the Braves, puts Cabrera on second instead of being out to start the bottom of the fifth. I will take these Braves fuck ups all day. I'm going to go ahead and say that shitty bunt was another brain fart for the Braves because that looked like it should have been easily caught and now we have runners at the corners and no outs. Will steals second on a pretty fantastic jump and high throw to put runners at second and third with no outs and a 3-1 count on Chase. Chase drives in two more on a single which may have been a double had the ball not been cut off. Then again we may have only got one run instead of two so I'm not going to be mad that Chase is only at first. Chase got thrown out stealing second, Grandal flies out and just like that we go from scoring to getting out, to getting out the Braves starter to hitting Kotsay to put two runners on and two outs. And I have clearly said "to" too many times.

The Braves load the bases with two out in the sixth and now I'm a little worried. I'd be more worried but I already know we win this game. The joys of having internet and friends that can't shut their mouths. Cam singles to start our half of the sixth and followed promptly by a Guzman walk. Cabrera sacrifices to move the runners to second and third and as Enberg is saying how fans appreciate sacrifice bunts, I was about to write how much I hate them. I HATE giving up outs. Will narrowly escapes being hit to load the bases. Maybe he should have taken a lesson or two from some of the players who don't bother to get out of the way. Hmm, that call at the plate looked super sketch to me. Cam looked to have been safe but from another angle, Cam was clearly out and that call is no longer super sketch.

I love when the camera men decide to focus on random animals on the field, today they focused on a pigeon and by today I obviously mean tomorrow. I feel like it is really weird to see pigeons on the field out here and that it should be seagulls instead. Logan doubles yet again, this time to start the bottom of the eighth. I'm glad our offense has showed up again. Cam walks on five pitches to put two men on and no outs and I'm wanting a double steal here just for funsies. We won't get the double steal that I want because they walked Alexi to load the bases. If he would be a normal sized batter that ball would have not doubt been a strike. Thank God for short players. With the bases loaded, Deno singles to drive in two, making this a 6-1 game. Thank you baby Jesus for giving us our offense back!! With runners on first and second, Grandal singles to drive in Alexi as Deno over slides into third but luckily he was able to hang on by a finger and now we are winning 7-1. Alonso also singles and drives in yet another run... with two outs. The Padres lead is now extended to 8-1 in the eighth. Brach decides to give up a home run because he felt bad that we were winning by so much, at least that's what I'm telling myself. It doesn't really matter since we are going to win this game 8-2. Do you think we like playing the spoiler??

Oh Where, Oh Where Did Our Offense Go??

Gross!! The Braves scored first but it could have been much worse. Instead of a one run lead it could have been a two run lead. It wasn't nearly as close to being a home run as I initially thought but Will most definitely should have been able to catch that and get out of the inning unharmed. The highlights of Kemp running into the wall are pretty epic, he must really like doing that. Though the one from today didn't look very good, given they showed him laying on the ground awhile after. Double gross!! Uggla just hit a solo home run almost into the paint can and now we are losing 2-0. Did we forget we are going for nine straight wins because we sure as hell don't like we are playing for a ninth straight win.

Oh Lord, it's already the sixth inning and the Padres still haven't scored. We finally get a player on which it seems like we hadn't done in forever AND he gets picked off. Alexi, why you go and get picked off?! Cabrera over throws Alonso for what should have been an easy out in the top half of the eighth and watching us lose is super depressing. I was finally getting used to us winning games. Dude if we are going to stop playing like we have been, can this hurry and end so I can go straighten my hair before we turn the AC off for the night?? As yet another Padres strikeout occurs I begin thinking to myself "Where did our offense go?!". Seriously, it was here one day, gone the next. Isn't it supposed to be or usually a gradual decline in performance and not a dramatic change??

The most exciting part of the game was the baseball drama in the top of the ninth about whether or not Alonso intentionally let the ball drop or dropped it to get a double play. They totally would have had if the umps hadn't overturned the play. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't paying close enough attention so I'm not entirely sure why they overturned it but I find it stupid that they did. Can't you see we are already losing, you're just preventing the inevitable by extending the inning. Cabrera luckily makes it on to start the bottom of the ninth and I'm keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't get picked off here. I'd appreciate it if this game would hurry and end in glorious fashion. The Padres snap their win streak in gloriously lame fashion, a shut out. UGH. I hate seeing the Braves win.

A Kelly Debut Brings In an Eighth Straight Win

So I'm more than two hours behind on tonight's game because I was being a good Auntie and terrible Padres fan this year and went to my nieces birthday party unlike last year. Last year I was a terrible Auntie but a fantastical Padres fan because I ditched the birthday party to see Trevor's number be retired. As someone who has been a fan as long as I have it would have been ungodly to miss the retirement ceremony. I do feel awful for missing the live debut of Casey Kelly but two hours behind is better than not see it at all.

To kick off the second inning of the game Yasmani jacks a two run shot to left, giving the Padres the 2-0 lead against ATL. Ugh is it really necessary to remind us yet again that we lost in the last game of the 2010 season and were kicked out of a playoff spot to the dirty Giants?! I believe not. Every Padres fan has that game burned into their memory and needs no reminder about it. In fact if someone has a drug that will single handedly remove specific memories, I bet there would be a ton of Padres fans will to take it to erase that game and game 163. Yes, I'm still bitter about that and will forever hate Matt Holliday for it. Ooh there was a very shady double play call BUT Cam was out at first... barely. It was unbelievably close at first glance and I wish we would stop hitting into those line drive double plays. I swear I never saw any double plays happen like that until this season and now I'm seeing it everywhere.

Yep, totally just saw another line drive DP but at least this one was against the Braves instead. I like it A LOT better that way. So I just got to the part of the game where they showed Casey Kelly's dad and brother. Umm can I PLEASE have his brother?? Please?? Okay, they really need to stop showing me his brother, I'm getting way too distracted and not concentrating on his pitches. Stop it, FSSD!! As if Casey wasn't killing it enough as it is, he got his first major league hit tonight. Good job, kid!! The Padres have the bases loaded for like what, the fourth game in a row?! I'm very impressed that we keep managing to do this. We didn't get any runs around with it but still, we are getting there.

Casey had an amazing night and went six very solid innings against one of the better teams in the league and is on his way to collecting a W. Once again, good job, kid!! Chase steals second in the eighth with two outs and Yasmani gets a base hit and scores Chase to make it 3-0. Unfortunately, Grandal got caught in a run down but you know what, I don't care because we extended the lead. The Padres would win this one 3-0 to give us the longest winning streak of the season, 8 whole games!! Let's keep this going boys, this is very exciting!!

Seven In a Row AND a Sweep?! Me Likey

The Padres start the game off with a Yasmani RBI single as they look to extend their win streak to seven. Seven straight wins would be a season high, I believe. Alonso follows in Yasmani's shoes and drives in Quentin to make it a 2-0 Padres lead in the first. The D-Backs walk Kotsay to load the bases with two out in the first inning. I really hope we can do some major damage here but I don't have much trust in us when the bases are loaded, despite how well they have been playing lately. As expected, we didn't do anything with that opportunity. Ugh Volquez gives up a run in the bottom half of the first and one batter later gives up the tying run. Cue complaints...

While everyone is tweeting about the second earthquake of the day, the only one of which I felt today, the Padres took the lead back again with two outs. What's with us doing shit with two outs lately?! Fourth inning and we scored out fourth run of the game, again with two outs. And again we load the bases. Not even going to lie, but I'm good if this game stays 4-2 because I really want to take a nap right now and I can't properly write a post if I've fallen asleep and missed runs being scored. Ehh, fuck it, I don't write proper posts anyway.

As people are making me laugh hysterically about how immature some adults are, the Padres scored in the seventh to make it 5-2 Padres. I thought the D-Backs were supposed to be a decent team. Aww man, the D-backs pull themselves back into the game on a two run homer run in the eighth inning to make it 5-4 Padres. I really miss when we could leave the game up to the bullpen and not worry about giving up runs of any kind. Can we go back to that, new owners?? Please?? Luke made a fantastical play to record the second out of the ninth which just shows why pitchers need to end in a defensive position after the delivery. The Padres hold on to win 5-4 for the sweep and a season high seven game win streak.

We Got This

While I was watching Batman/getting my nap on, the Padres started the game off with a Chase solo home run. I'm not sure if I should be more disappointed that I fell asleep watching Batman or that I'm having to watch this home run being hit over a half hour after the fact. Well the game over a half hour after it started. The only good thing I can come up with for starting the game last is I can fast forward through commercials and if the opportunity presents itself, Leila's voice. In the second inning Upton hit a two run inside the park home run. WHAT THE FUCK?! That was interesting in the "how the fuck do you not even attempt the throw to the plate knowing that there wasn't anyone but Upton running by that point" kind of thing. Even if it was a shitty throw or late it's not like you would have cost a runner to move up. So much for our early lead as the D-Backs now lead 2-1.

In the third inning, Cabrera finally got caught stealing which is very disappointing because that is about the only thing I liked about him. Quentin ties the game in the fourth with a solo home run of his own. I like that the only runs being scored are off of home runs, even if they aren't the conventional ones from the not so bad, bad guys. Fifth inning, Alonso with a solo shot and now it's a 3-2 Padres lead. Me Gusta!! I'm kinda over solo shots but I'll take them. The D-Backs walk Yasmani with the bases loaded to make it a 4-2 game in the sixth. Two more runs score on an Alonso single. I still don't like him but I'm learning to tolerate him more and more.

Will starts the eighth with a stand up triple. Triples are fabulous but I like it better when they have to slide. What can I say, I love it when they get dirty. Chase drives Will in on a sac fly to make it 7-2 Padres and I'm still not caught up with the live broadcast. The Padres load the bases once again with one out this time around. Let's go ahead and blow this even further open than it already is, okay?? This D-Backs pitcher doesn't know how to hit the strike zone as he walks Cam to make it an 8-2. Keep walking us, please and thank you. Alexi drives in another run making it 9-2 on a sac fly and we now have runners at the corners with two outs and Clayton up. Clayton can hit but not in this case, lame sauce. Clayton gives up a solo home run to make it a 9-3 game in the bottom of the eighth. It's okay, Clayton, we are still kicking their asses. The Padres go down in order in the top half of the ninth but who really gives a fuck because the D-Backs just did the same thing. The Padres win 9-3 and take the first two games of the series to extend their win streak to six.

The Padres Win All While Boring Me To Death

So I haven't watched baseball in like two days so I decided to OD on it today. I started to watch the final game of the Pirates series before I decided I needed to go out to the pool, then I turned on the Reds game as per usual and now I've got the rest of the Reds game on my laptop and the Padres game on  TV. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Padres game doesn't go the route of the Reds game. By the third inning the Padres take a 3-0 lead. Two of the runs came off an RBI single by Stults in the second, the third run was a Deno home run  in the third. I like the way this game is starting. Oh I forgot, Chase took a ball off the wrist like Marquis did the other night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he won't end up in a cast.

Stults drives in another run in the fourth inning to make it 4-0 Padres. I kinda like this whole the score matching the inning thing we have going on here. Of course after I wrote that we decided we didn't need to make the score match the inning anymore and didn't score again until the seventh inning. Why are you trying to make me look stupid, Padres?! Nothing else happened the rest of the game and I swear this has been the most boring game ever today. I'm amazed that I haven't fallen asleep despite the 5-0 Padres win.

Loaded Bases, Alexi Hops, McCutchen Beast Mode and an Extra Innings Walk Off

The Padres score first once again this series off a Quentin two run double. I'm totally okay with this extension of Quentin now. Marquis took a line drive off his wrist and he may or may not be dead. He's still in pitching but I don't believe that he's not dead. He's clearly zombie pitching. Team fun size got taken out and a throwing error to give the Pirates a run. Boooo.

In the third inning the Padres load the bases with one out and like my gut was telling me, Alonso hit into a double play to end the inning. I had just commented not too long before that about where these bats had been all season. Clearly, Alonso didn't care and brought back the old bats. Quentin and Alexi saved a run with an AMAZING play to get the runner out at home. Not even going to lie, I was a little worried this game was about to be tied but that throw home was PERFECT and Grandal didn't puss out blocking the plate. Well he didn't even need to really, the ball got there in plenty of time that the runner slid into the glove. BEAUTIFUL.

The Padres load the bases once again, this time in the fifth with two outs and Alexi up. Alexi unfortunately ended the inning but I can't be too mad at him after that throw home earlier. The Pirates tie the game on a solo home run and make me super sad. I wanted this game to hurry and end, I don't want it to go into extras like I feel it will. Pretty sure I have some Molecular Bio shit to deal with before tomorrow. Well, the Pirates scored again to make it 3-2. At least it won't go into extras... I hope. Once again the Padres load the bases, this time with no outs. Sooooo we are going to do something with this one right?? Venable ties the game because the Pirates are bobbling left and right in this half inning. We still have the bases loaded and no outs. Lets do work, son!! Chase strikes out for the first out of the inning but it's okay because Quentin is up now. Well it's not okay Quentin is up and just hit into a double play. We seriously do not deserve to win this game. We have technically had the bases loaded four times and have only scored once. Seriously, Padres, how do you manage to not utilize those opportunities?!

If we would have had speed on the bases we could have possible taken the lead back to start the seventh inning with an Alexi double that possibly could have been a triple had Alonso not been on base to begin with. Once again the Padres load the bases, with one out, and now Kotsay is up. PLEASE UTILIZE IT THIS TIME!! Hey, we did something but not without some baseball drama. Deno hit it deep enough for a run to score but like I said, there was some baseball drama. The Pirates were trying to tell us that Alonso left the bag before the ball was caught but that drama started after Alexi was called safe on a very questionable call. Thankfully things went the Padres way because we are now winning 4-3 in the seventh.

Quentin drives in the fifth Padres run of the game and I still don't believe this game won't end before midnight. Alexi's got some mad hops and took away a base hit that I was 100% sure was going to be like a mile over his head. *slow clap* Good job, Alexi, good job. The Pirates tie the game on a two run jack to center and now it seriously will be midnight before I get around to doing what I need to do. The Padres had the chance to walk it off in the ninth but no, McCutchen is fucking beast and into extras we will go. We put in lizard man to pitch the tenth and I can only hope this game will end soon.  And into extras we will win!! Chase hits a two run walk off jack and now I can do what I need to do because ya know, my priorities are awesomely fucked. Thank you for ending this in amazing fashion, Chase. Okay, love you, buh bye.
