Cards Beat the Padres Again, Go Figure

There's not much to report on this game and no it's not because I was more focused on the Reds Braves game than this one. It's just that there was literally nothing going on after the initial run scored in the first until about the sixth inning. As per usual the Padres weren't the ones doing the early scoring, or any scoring for that matter. Some weird shit went down in the bottom of the sixth. Well not so much weird as shitty playing by Baker. Apparently he was thinking there was a force or something because he took his sweet time getting down to tag the runner. As if that inning wasn't going bad enough, the Cards loaded the bases and Cabrera fucked up what should have been the worlds easiest double play to give the Cards a 3-0 lead. At some point during that inning Volquez went apeshit and thoughts about Zambrano kicking his catchers ass came to mind. I think we were all waiting for Volquez to go the Zambrano route. I'm not even going to get started on that stupid double play we got into because Alonso assumed the ball was going to drop and was too far off and too slow to get back to first in time. Holliday continues to give me reasons to hate him and this game is no different as an RBI double put the Cards up 4-0 in the bottom of the seventh, not to mention he was the reason Alonso got in that stupid double play the last half inning. Despite the overall lack of interesting moments in the game, Parrino's defense sure was fun to watch and it makes my heart extremely happy to see defense like that on the Padres. Usually if I want to see defense like that I have to watch just about any other team so to see it done on the Padres is fantabulous. However Wainwright collected a complete game shut out as the Cards won 4-0.

Record: 16-28
